In the continental sedimentary strata drilling operations in the northeastern Sichuan region, there has long been a challenge of increasing speed. Due to the hard and abrasive nature of the continental strata rocks, the mechanical drilling speed is low, often less than 1 meter per hour, which severely affects drilling efficiency.
However, with the introduction of the "diamond drill" technology, this bottleneck has been successfully broken. The so-called "diamond drill" actually refers to the advanced drilling technology of "turbine + impregnated diamond drill bit." This technology has been tested and applied in the continental strata of the Yuanba exploration area, achieving significant results.
In multiple applications, the "diamond drill" technology has demonstrated its outstanding performance. The drilling depth reached 1244.79 meters, and the average mechanical drilling speed increased to 1.37 meters per hour, with an average mechanical drilling speed reaching as high as 1.78 meters per hour in one application. This groundbreaking progress not only significantly increased drilling speed but also effectively reduced drilling costs, bringing new vitality to oil and gas exploration and development in the northeastern Sichuan region.
